Meets requirements of Mil-T-8535(AS) for the AN/DPN-88 Transponder
The slotted blade or “bent stub” antenna provides both vertically and horizontally polarized components of radiated energy. This feature fills in the antenna pattern hole typically exhibited by the 1/4 wave stub antenna. The “bent stub” also provides a vertically polarized component when the aircraft i in a steep bank attitude.
